Breakfast in the hotel. Today, we will visit Ateshgah (Fire Worshippers Temple). Based on Persian and Indian inscriptions, the temple was used as a Hindu and Zoroastrian place of worship. “Atash is the Persian word for fire. The pentagonal complex, which has a courtyard surrounded by cells for monks and a tetra pillar-altar in the middle, was built during the 17th and 18th centuries. Then visit “Fire Mountain “- “Yanardag” -a mountain on the Absheron peninsula, 25 km north of Baku. Literally, the word “Yanardag” means “Blazing Mountain”. Blazing bodies of flame dance on stones and the floor. Yanar Dag is a natural gas fire that blazes continuously on a hillside on the Absheron Peninsula on the Caspian Sea near Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan, which itself is known as the “Land of Fire.”

Our tour program starts with the Old City, or Inner City, which is the historical core of Baku, the capital of Azerbaijan. The Old City is the most ancient part of Baku, which is surrounded by walls that are well protected. In 2007, the Old City had a population of about 3000 people. In December 2000, the Old City of Baku, including the Palace of the Shirvanshahs and Maiden Tower, became the first location in Azerbaijan to be classified as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. The group will experience the happening street of Nizami Street, known for shopping. The street’s history could be traced back to Baku’s town-planning project of 1864. The street runs through the city’s downtown from west to east. It begins from Abdulla Shaig Street, in mountainous part of the city and ends at railroad bed on Sabit Orujov Street, near a monument to Shah Ismail Khatai in “Black City”. Visit Eye-catching Lake Nohur with the magnificent view of the Caucasus Mountains, fresh air, and water, which is one of the most picturesque places in Gabala. Cable car ride, which will take you to the top of the mountain. Gabala Cable Car is a highlight of the city. Divided into three parts, you can have an enjoyable experience with nice views of the city. The cable car goes up to 1600-1900 meters. In summer, the view from the top of the mountain is fascinating, and the place is a popular ski resort when there’s snow. Dinner, transfer to the hotel for check-in. Overnight in Sheki.

Breakfast. Check out of the Sheki hotel and transfer to the Georgia-Lagodekhi border. Arrival at Lagodekhi- clearing immigration and customs. On arrival, transfer to Tbilisi. En route, we will visit the “City of Love” – Sighnaghi. A beautiful town is situated at the top of the hill, surrounded by valleys and the huge Caucasus Mountains. Visit the nunnery of Bodbe. Visit Vineria Winery for wine testing. Later, drive to Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight in Tbilisi.

After breakfast, enjoy a full-day Mtskheta tour… start with Jvari Monastery (6th – 7th cc), the most important religious center and an architectural masterpiece of medieval Georgia. The Monastery stands on the rocky mountaintop at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers, overlooking the town of Mtskheta, which was formerly the capital of the Kingdom of Iberia. Passing through the famous souvenir market, continue the tour to the old Capital town of Georgia, where Svetitskhoveli Cathedral is located. The present Svetitskhoveli Cathedral was built between 1010 and 1029 by the architect Arsukidze, at the invitation of the Catholicos Melchizedek I of Georgia. Both Jvari Monastery and Svetitskhoveli Cathedral are recognized by UNESCO as World Heritage Sites.

Transfer to Tbilisi and enjoy a local tour. You will explore Metekhi church and the monument to King Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Walk down to the Rike Park and Cross the Peace Bridge. Take the cable car from Rike Park to Narikala Fortress to enjoy the breathtaking panoramic view of the city and the statue of Mother Georgia standing above the old Tbilisi. Walk down to the district of Sulphur Baths, passing by the only mosque in Tbilisi. You will also visit the Chronicles of Georgia and enjoy the picturesque views. Transfer to the hotel. After breakfast, we will proceed for the Georgian Military Highway up North, towards the border with Russia. You will reach Jhinvali Water reservoir created during the soviet era. continuing your way to Ananuri complex, a former residence of Argveti Dukes. You will reach Ananuri complex. The complex features churches and towers dating back to the 16-17th centuries, beautifully overlooking the Jhinvali reservoir. Because of local uprising and clashes Ananuri was controlled by different Dukes. In the complex you will see two churches from 17th century. The older one was built in 1689 and has sophisticated ornaments of grapes and crosses symbolizing soul of Georgian culture. You will spend about sometime there. Continue your drive to see
the conjunction of two small mountain rivers famous for the fact that being different in color they keep their own colors even after merge. Continuing the way you will have a chance to taste the mineral mountain springs in Mleta.You will reach Gudauri and spend about sometime there. We will drive over the Cross Pass and make a short stop at the Soviet-era “People’s riendship” mountain viewpoint overlooking a deep gorge of Caucasus mountain range. After arriving to Kazbegi(Stepantsminda) we will change our vehicle to a four-wheel drive car to reach Gergeti Holy Trinity Church located on altitude of 2170 meters, and enjoy breathtaking views of Mt Kazbegi. After the tour transfer to Tbilisi hotel. Dinner and overnight at Tibilisi.
