Today, after breakfast, we will visit one of the ancient Wonders of the World – The Terracotta Warriors. The Terracotta Warriors represent only a small portion of the eight thousand-strong underground armies buried in the craftsmanship attested by each of the statues, as stupendous as the scale of the project. You will see more than 5000 molded soldiers, etc., of the famed army. Have your lunch in due course. Next, we will explore the city of Hiuen Tsang – the Great Chinese Traveler who visited India in the 7th Century. We’ll be visiting the outside area of the famous Wild Goose Pagoda. Next, you can leisurely walk at the 650-year-old Xi’an Ancient City Walls. Free time for local shopping. In the evening, you will be taken for an Indian dinner in an Indian restaurant, followed by a transfer back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Today, after breakfast, we will check out and visit the ancient city wall. The Xian city wall was erected in the 14th century Ming Dynasty, under the regime of Emperor Zhu Yuanzhang. The current city wall is an enhancement of the old Tang Dynasty structure, as a result of the emperor’s wall-building campaign. The first city wall of Xi’an was built of earth, rammed layer upon layer. The base layer was made of earth, quick lime, and glutinous rice extract, tamped together. It made the wall extremely strong. Later, the wall was totally enclosed with bricks. A moat, wide and deep, ran around the city. Over the moat, there used to be a huge drawbridge, which would cut off the way in and out of the city, once lifted. Xi’an’s city wall, after its enlargement in the Ming Dynasty, stands 12 meters high.

It is 12-14 meters across the top, 15-18 meters thick at the bottom, and 13.7 kilometers in length. In the evening, you will be transferred to Xian railway station to board the high-speed train for the capital city “Beijing”. This morning, you arrive in the capital of the People’s Republic of China – Beijing. First, we will take you to have breakfast and then visit Tiananmen Square: the largest Square in the world, where the biggest student revolution occurred in the recent past. Next, we will visit one of the major attractions in China – the awesome Forbidden City situated in the very heart of Beijing. The construction of the grand palace started in the fourth year of Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1406), and ended in 1420. In ancient times, the emperor claimed to be the son of Heaven, and therefore Heaven’s supreme power was bestowed upon him. The emperors’ residence on earth was built as a replica of the Purple Palace, where God was thought to live in Heaven. Such a divine place was certainly forbidden to ordinary people, and that is why the Forbidden City is so named. In 1961, the Forbidden City was listed as one of the important historical monuments under special preservation by the Chinese central government, and in  1987, it was nominated as a World Cultural Heritage by UNESCO.

After lunch, we will take you to the Dr Tea and Silk market. Before dinner, enjoy Acrobatic Shows -thrilling, world-class performances that combine ancient Chinese athletic traditions with modern stage effects. You will be taken to an Indian restaurant for dinner, followed by a transfer to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Have your breakfast and check out, as you’ll be transferred to Beijing Railway Station to board the bullet train to Shanghai. We arrive at the bustling city of Shanghai, the Business Hub of Asia, at noon. Then you will be transferred to the hotel after lunch. In the evening, we will start exploring the spectacular view of the Bund of the bay and experience the charming Cruise on the River Huang Pu. Then transfer you to experience the Pudong area, which is called the most happening place in Asia. You will be astonished to see the massive Oriental Pearl Tower. Take photos of this huge structure from outside. Have an Indian dinner on your way back to the hotel. Stay overnight in Shanghai.

This morning after breakfast we check out from the hotel and proceed for a Guided City Tour of Shanghai. The tour includes fabulous Pearl Factory and then the massive Jade Buddha Temple. Jade Buddha Temple: This Temple is not famed for its architecture, which is very new and built in a standard Song Dynasty style, but the two Buddha’s housed within. Both are made of white jade in Burma and depict Shakyamuni Buddha (the historical Buddha). The more impressive of the two is the seated Buddha, 2 meters (6 feet 5 inches) tall, weighing 205 kg (452 lb) and decorated with Semi-precious stones. The other statue is a serene and beautiful Reclining Buddha about 1 meter (3 feet 4 inches) long. Next visit the famous Shanghai Museum and later you will be transferred to Shanghai Airport by World First Maglev Train. You will board China Eastern flight for Kunming. Your local guide will transfer for dinner and then to hotel for check in. Stay overnight in Kunming.

After having your late breakfast, check out of the hotel. The coach will drive you down through the beautiful scenery of Yunnan Province, heading towards the only world-famous Stone Forest. Once one of the wonders, Stone Forest, situated 80 miles from Kunming city, is a geological phenomenon of a vast expanse of sea during the Paleozoic era. Due to the constant seeping of rain through the cracks in the limestone, some of the stone formations dissolved and produced a group of great sculptures of different shapes, all molded by the grace of nature. Have your lunch in due course, followed by a visit to Flower & Coffee market.

We’ll now transfer you to the airport to board the flight back to Kolkata. Bid goodbye to all the friends you met during the tour.
