Welcome to Hanoi, the capital city of Vietnam! Upon arrival, greeted by the local tour guide and transferred to explore Hanoi city. Visit the Ho Chi Minh Complex, inclusive of Ba Dinh Square, Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum (from outside), as well as his private residence from 1954 until 1969. In the same complex, you will see the One Pillar Pagoda, founded by King Ly Thai To in 1049. This structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Then, visit the Temple of Literature, which is considered the first university of Vietnam. Drop by Train Street – a tiny narrow street hidden in one of the back streets of Hanoi and surrounded by high narrow houses packed closely together. These families’ backyards are the railways where the train passes a few times per day.

After lunch, visit the picturesque Hoan Kiem Lake and then take a leisurely walk around the Old Quarter of Hanoi, a fascinating network of narrow alleys and shop houses also known as ‘The 36 Streets’ – each street being named after the merchandise traditionally sold there, ranging from fabrics and medicines to crafts. After breakfast, a 90km drive south of Hanoi will lead us to Ninh Binh – the perfect place to relax and unwind while soaking up the landscape of Vietnam. On arrival, we start the 2hour-boat trip to visit Tam Coc. Known as “Halong Bay on land”, Tam Coc is three limestone caves stretching along the Ngo Dong River. The boat trip is a nice journey along the river with peaceful scenery of Limestone Mountains, rice paddy, and the site of some temples along the way from Hang Ca (first cave) to Hang Hai (second cave) and Hang Ba (third cave).

We will then drive to Hoa Lu through tranquil villages to enjoy the daily life of people in Ninh Binh. Hoa Lu was the capital of Vietnam for 41 years (968 – 1009), of which 12 years were under the Dinh dynasty – King Dinh Tien Hoang, and 29 years later were under the Le dynasty – King Le Dai Hanh. In Hoa Lu now, 2 temples have been built on the grounds of the old royal palace; one is dedicated to King Dinh Tien Hoang, and the other is to King Le Dai Hanh. The visit offers a chance to know more about part of the feudal dynasties and historical periods in Vietnamese history. Late afternoon, we return to Hanoi. Drive back to the hotel. After breakfast, check out and depart for Halong Bay, a World Heritage Site as designated by UNESCO in 1994, with nearly 3,000 rocky islets. The drive may take you more than three to four hours, depending on the high or low season traffic, and will pass the Red River Delta, one of the two granaries of Vietnam. Upon arrival in Halong, we will sail our boat around its natural rocky gardens whilst a tasty seafood lunch (local food) is waiting on board. We can visit the Grottos, stop for swimming or kayaking, pass floating houses and approach islets to enjoy their beauty in close distance. Back on the cruise, enjoy a cooking demonstration before having dinner. In the evening, attend activities on the boat or relax at your own leisure. Overnight on the cruise.

Early morning, enjoy the dawn on the sea. The Vietnamese call the “East Sea” by a point-oriented name, “Eastern Sea”, so you may guess how miraculous seeing the sunrise over the islets of the Bay. After breakfast, our boat will continue to cruise in marvelous areas, where almost every islet has its own name, adopting its shape or reminiscent of Sail Island, Fisherman’s Head Rock, Butterfly Rock, or Turtle Islet, etc. Check out your room and have brunch on board while the cruise comes back to the pier. Disembark from the cruise, transfer to the airport for a flight to Da Nang.

After breakfast, transfer to Ba Na Hill, one of the most spectacular landscapes of Danang City. We will take a cable car to the summit of the mountain (at 1487m of sea level). Start visiting Ba Na Hill with many different attractions: Funicular, Debay ancient wine cellar & Le Jardin D’Amour, Linh Ung Pagoda, Thich Ca Buddhist statue, etc. Have buffet lunch at the local restaurant.

This afternoon, you continue to join activities and games in Fantasy Park. Later, walk to the summit of the mountain at the height 1487m – the highest one of Ba Na Mountain, visit Bell Tower, Nghinh Phong Tower and Golden Bridge, to take beautiful photos of the mountain and Da Nang city. Late afternoon, take the cable car back to the foothill.

Continue the trip to the charming town of Hoi An. You take an interesting walk over the tile-roofed Japanese Bridge, visit taciturn Chinese Assembly Halls, enjoy the attractiveness of ancient houses, or listen to folk music of Central Vietnam at old clubhouses… This is also a wonderful town to shop for lanterns, soft silk, raw silk, or get your clothes tailored within a day. In the evening, witness the town light up with thousands of colorful lanterns. Enjoy shopping at various shops or the night market. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight in Danang.

Breakfast at the hotel and checkout. Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Saigon, also known as Ho Chi Minh, the most dynamic city in Vietnam. Upon arrival, you will be welcomed by the local tour guide. Drive to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels. The network of over 200km of tunnels became legendary for playing a vital role in the War. In their heyday, the tunnels were functioning underground cities, including numerous trap doors, specially constructed living areas, storage facilities, weapons factories, field hospitals, command centers & kitchens. You will have a chance to crawl into a short section of the tunnels to feel the oppressive narrowness and heat inside. Return to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner at an Indian restaurant. Overnight in Saigon.

After having an early breakfast at the hotel. Proceed to a guided tour of My Tho, the homeland of coconut and family factories with local products like coconut candy and rice paper. Upon arrival, embark on a boat cruise on the mighty Mekong River, viewing the lives of the local people living along the banks. We stop to visit an island in the area, enjoy the fresh tropical fruits served in the heart of the lush garden accompanied by traditional southern Vietnamese folk music. Later, embark on other small boats rowed by the local people through the small canals shadowed by water coconut trees to visit the local factories. There you will taste the honey tea and see the local people produce the coconut candy milk, and of course you also can try it or stroll in the garden where the locals feed the honeybees. Lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, transfer back to Ho Chi Minh City. Dinner at an Indian restaurant, then transfer back to your hotel. Overnight in Ho Chi Minh City.

Transfer to the airport for the departure flight back to your sweet home.
