Arrive in the official hometown of Santa Claus, Rovaniemi. Today, post breakfast on board the train, we set out for our journey to Ranua Zoo. It is the home of Polar Beer, Arctic foxes, and many other Arctic species, etc., to be seen in their natural habitat. Be mesmerized to see certain species that we never knew existed in the Arctic.

Afternoon drive to the northernmost part of Finland, which is known as the Finnish Lapland. Lapland has earned the reputation of being one of the best Aurora spotting grounds in the world. With the presence of igloos at Saariselka/Levi/Kittila, one gets the heavenly experience to witness the dancing Aurora in the sky through the glass domes while cozily lying in the bed inside the
igloo, thermally heated. On arrival at the igloo resort, we take dinner and spend the time in leisure. As per the weather forecast, if we are lucky, we may come across a beautiful Aurora shining brightly in the sky with multiple hues and colours.

Let’s drive through the never-ending scenic avenue, passing the forests, small snowcapped mountains, fjords connected by bridges, lakes, and a snowy composition of landscapes to reach Alta. Alta stands as an exception due to its surreal beauty. Alta, too, has earned a reputation for being one of the most promising sites for Aurora hunting. If lucky, we could spot Aurora in the night. Post dinner, warm yourself with thermal heaters as you sleep soundly in the lap of Lapland. Overnight in Alta.

In 2009, Hammerfest received trademark protection as the “northernmost town in the world”. The town of Hammerfest is located on the island of KvalΓΈya and is connected to the mainland
by a bridge. Despite its location north of the Arctic Circle, the town has an ice-free harbor. In 2005, Hammerfest was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site along with the Meridian Pillar at Fuglenes, which marks the northernmost point of measurement on the Struve Meridian Arc. center surrounded by unusual scenic beauty. The breath-taking view of SkogΓ‘foss waterfall and scenic surroundings, and the snow-capped heights of two towering glaciers are SkΓ³gar’s major attractions. After enjoying a hot breakfast, you will have an enthralling drive as we proceed to the peerless Black Beach of the World – the Reynisfjara. The onyx black sand of Reynisfjara is formed from volcanic activity in Iceland. When lava collides with the ocean, it rapidly cools and shatters into small fragments of basalt. Those small fragments are what comprise many of the black sand beaches around Iceland.

Next comes the major attraction of the tour – the Jokulsarlon Glacier. The iceberg floating in the midst of the frozen sea will take you to an ethereal world. The Skaftafell, located inside the Vatnajokull National Park, is just adjacent and adds more to the beauty of this place. The Jokulsarlon is always filled up to the brim due to the water fed by the melting of the glacier from Vatnajokull – the world’s largest glacier. However, the constant melting of the ice now poses a danger as the glacier might disappear in the next few decades.

Both Reynisfjara and Jokulsarlon happen to be shooting locations of the Gerua song. Later, visit the Diamond Beach where pieces of ice are scattered everywhere, looking so shimmering whose shine is no less than diamonds. Post the tour, return safely to your hotel, preceded by a dinner.

After a walking tour, continue through the farmlands to the thermal area of the great Geyser Strokkur, spouting hot springs where a jet of water is spouted every 15 minutes. Then we visit Gullfoss, known as the “Golden Waterfall” and one of the most
popular tourist attractions in Iceland. The water plummets down 32 meters in two stages into a rugged canyon whose walls reach up to 70 meters in height. On a sunny day, a shimmering rainbow can be seen over the falls.

Post the tour, dinner will be served at an Indian restaurant. Later, we shall proceed to the hotel for a comfortable overnight stay. Stay in Reykjavik
